Panasonic fights workplace tech nightmares and boosts office efficiency with KV-S5055C scanner launch
Panasonic System Networks Europe has launched the KV-S5055C , a professional scanner which eliminates some of the most common causes for hardware breakdown in the workplace
The KV-S5055C is A3 compatible, capable of scanning 90 pages per minute1 and can process documents up to 100 feet long. The automatic document feeder can hold up to 200 documents, enabling high-volume scanning.
Panasonic is known for its rugged and highly durable products such as Toughbook notebook computers and interactive whiteboards so it comes as no surprise that the KV-S5055C features Panasonic’s unique ‘Toughfeed’ technology – an innovative paper feed mechanism that features automatic staple detection and double feed prevention.
“Malfunctioning scanners and hardware can waste a lot of time and cause a lot of frustration in the office. The KV-S5055C saves time and improves the quality of the scanned document. It has exclusive technologies within Toughfeed, but adds even more advanced features so it can automatically scan documents of different size and thickness within the same feed,” said Brennan Peyton, general manager at Panasonic Imaging Group.
“An important feature of the device is the automatic optics cleaning brush, and the ‘ION stream’ that dramatically reduces static and paper dust,” continued Peyton. “We have also added the Double Feed Skip Key. This enables users to carry on scanning even when a double feed is detected, such as when a sticky note is attached to the document. This was incorporated in response to feedback from our resellers.”
The scanner also contains Panasonic’s Image Capture Plus software which enables users to edit scanned pages easily. This can include taking out blank pages, switching page order, cropping documents and automatically removing the marks left by punched holes in the original.
The KV-S5055C will be distributed through Kofax and Avnet across Europe, and through Alos in Germany and Spigraph in France, Benelux, and Northern Europe, Imaging Xtra in the UK and by other authorized partners.
Dealers can register to take part in a reward scheme available across Europe. The PIIV programme, launched in October 2009, offers a rebate based on the level of purchases and makes units available for product demonstrations.
